Facing so many troubles, stay from court, ban in theatres giving an end to all these Prakash Jha’S Aarakshan is in silverscreen . Jha created vibes among audience with his Rajneethi by taking relevant themes that can be directly related with the daily activities happening in our society. Reminding us about Rajneethi but Jha striked back with another theme that is having potential to start of a new debate. "Reservation is a sensitive issue but we have kept that in mind. Political reasons could be behind the ban on the film. "Aarakshan" deals with the issue of caste-based reservations in the Indian education system, and several political parties and groups have expressed concern over its content in anticipation of anti-Dalit comments.Jha's film received a clean chit from the censor board, and was given a U/A certificate without any cuts, after it was screened for a nine-member committee.
Story line
The movie opens with a scene where Deepak Kumar (Saif Ali Khan), while giving a college interview, is made fun of because of his caste. The movie opens with a high note when Saif storms off the room. However, as the clock ticks, the graph of the film only heads South. AARAKSHAN predominantly revolves around Prabhakar Anand (Amitabh Bachchan ), who has been the pillar of a private college in Bhopal for more than 30 years. The strict principal in Mohhabetein who is against Pyar and ishq ,here is an idealistic principal believes in merit, but at the same time is considerate towards poor students who can't score great marks. Deepak who is immensely helped by Prabharkar, is in love with his daughter, Poorbi (Deepika Padukone). Sushant (Prateik) is a good friend of Poorbi and studies in the same college.
A comment in a newspaper on the Supreme Court's order on reservation lands Prabhakar in a tough spot. He resigns from his post giving way to the scheming Mithilesh Singh (Manoj Bajpa ), who's part of the institute but concentrates more on his private coaching classes. Due to his evil plans, Prabhakar and his family are even forced to give up their home. Will Prabhakar be able to reclaim his life, is what ensues.

Performance
Amitabh Bachchan delivers an outstanding performance. He is tailor made to the role in the movie. It proves that he still has the hunger left in him. Saif Ali Khan acts and make people believe the character. Deepika Padukone essayed the role very finely. . Manoj Bajpai plays his subdued negative character to perfection.Long way to go for as far as Prateik Babar is concern. Darshan Jariwala is good. Yashpal Sharma is effective. Hema Malini's cameo makes little sense.
Technicalities
Technicalities
Taking a relevant theme Jha tried to keep its pace in the right place. Taking so much of time to convey the message will take away the patience out from the audience. Though dragging a bit first half moves complemented with two back to back songs and showing a path way for the central plot will not make the boring feel. But moving on, the man on talks Jha loses his grisp where it is reflected in the outcome of the movie by making the movie to move on like a snail. The expected music from the maestro Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy' is missing. Without leaving any mark in Box office music is disappointing. Sachin Kumar Krishnan's cinematography is fine. Santosh Mandal's editing could have been a lot crispier.
Quick take: Amitabh’s Performance
Second Thought: Dragging Script
Final Verdict : Created controversies didn’t leave any positive mark. If missed the movie , no regrets
